Two Weeks!!!

Mark your calendars, November 11th is the day! I went to the doctor today, and after feeling my stomach, and noticing that the baby isn't dropping at all, they decided to do an ultrasound to double check if she is in the right position... I shouldn't have been surprised, she's already show us that she like to call the shots, but it's official she's breech. The doctor said we have the option of trying to turn her, but because of my amazing abs ;) (Yeah that's right I have freakishly strong stomach muscles according to the doctor) and the fact that she's been nice and cozy in this position for at least the last 2 months, the procedure would most likely not be successful and it could be pretty painful as well. So Grant and I talked, and with the doctor's input, we feel the safest option is to go with a scheduled c-section. So, for now we are planning on Nov. 11. It's kinda nice to know when this is going to happen, and kinda a bummer too. Better safe than sorry though.

Reason five-million that I love him

He finishes my projects. This week at my doctor's appointment, the doctor said she would be surprised if this baby waits until her due date. I proceeded to freak out, and nesting has gone into overdrive. Grant being the amazing guy he is has indulged my craziness, accompanied me to the fabric store and craft store more times than I can count, and after all of that, sewed and hung our curtains after my 15 minutes of patience ran out. He didn't do to bad either! Yep, I sure do love him!

Baby Shower and the Pumpkin Patch

This weekend was a busy one for us. It started out Saturday morning with my baby shower. Whitney and Jen, two girls from our ward had asked a few months back if they could throw a shower for me, and of course I said yes (really, who would turn that down?). It turned out great, and we once again have been amazed by the generosity of all of the people at church. Maybe it is just part of the pregnancy experience, freaking out about everything, but there definitely are moments when it sinks in that we are thousands of miles from family- and it's a little scary. It always seems to work out however, that when I am really getting nervous about our upcoming "adventure", someone always seems calm my nerves with the reassurance that even though it may not be family, we already have a great group of friends willing to help out. Argh, dang these emotions, I won't say anything else other than we love this ward we are in and feel so blessed to be here at this point in our lives. Now on to the fun stuff- pictures.

Whitney and Jen did such a good job getting everything ready and decorated. We had a brunch with tons of yummy food. I didn't know this, but apparently you're supposed to have a theme for baby-showers ( I thought the baby was the theme at these things). Well, Whitney takes her party throwing very seriously ( she looked up proper baby shower protocol/etiquette online), and it was a beautiful "fall" themed shower

And, the best part ;) presents! I won't post all of the pictures, it would be Liz overload, but we received tons of great stuff and can't wait for this little girl to get here and test is out:)

Later that afternoon, we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and went to a pumpkin patch with some friends. We planned on bringing home a pumpkin, but forgot cash ( seriously there are still places that don't take cards !?!). The old man in charge of the hayride kind of killed the "magic" when he told us they just ship the pumpkins in and then scatter them in a field. So we decided that we would wait and buy one at the grocery store this week, in the mean time we are still the grumps AKA- the only people on our street with no Halloween decor :(

The "pumpkin patch." It was still very fun , even if we didn't bring home anything.

And of course if there is a statue or wood cut-out we can't resist. I'm sure there is an unwritten rule somewhere that you have to take a picture with it. Too bad some crazy guy in the background ruined the picture ;)

Greatest weekend ever!!!

When ever you have pajama church and unlimited food all rolled into one weekend, it's bound to be a good one! I just wish I had taken a belly shot on Friday so we could compare it with today- a belly shot of Grant of course, who else would I be talking about.
We started the weekend with our annual trip to Red Lobster. Grant waits all year for all-you-can-eat-shrimp season, and this year did not disappoint. We met up with our friends Adam and Heidi, and the boys went to town. Heidi and I are not seafood fans, so we stuck to chicken and it was great too. Grant and Adam did their best to get their money's worth, and I think they succeeded. Sorry, no pictures of the Red Lobster events, but it really was a good night.

Saturday started with a little conference in our PJs, and then we met up with the Gattusos and Blakes for the Reds game. Michael had called earlier in the week to see if we wanted to come along, he had extra tickets for the Diamond seats. Diamond seats mean you get to sit in the seats directly behind home plate, and you get all the food you can eat for free! They have a restaurant with nice food, and after you eat that you continue to eat ballpark food. Grant had a hot dog, nachos, pretzel, peanuts, ice cream, 3 juices, and the buffet in the restaurant plus dessert. I tried to keep up, but blast my pregnant stomach, I was uncomfortably full after my hot dog and had to call it quits. We tried to play it cool, we were soooo excited, but I think we failed miserably.
Our seats were closer to home plate than the pitching mound. That's my buddy Brandon Phillips up to bat. He was close enough that if I had the nerve I could have talked to him, and he would have probably heard me- but no, I was star struck and froze up :(
The Group- Me, Lane, Whitney, Grant, Tiffany, and Michael.
Mr. Red Legs working the crowd.
This is literally how close we were sitting to all the action- the small red spot in the right of the picture is one of our seats.

The Boys- Lane, Grant, and Michael. The Girls- Tiffany, Whitney, and me.

Thank you for inviting us, we had a blast! Grant has had a hard time adjusting back to eating normal portions. Every time I look he is snacking on something, and then just sighs and says "I'm just soo hungry." We'll wait and see if his stomach can shrink back to it's original size ;)
