Lately

Get ready for a lot of pictures. Lately we've been seeing a lot of smiles from this little guy. I love this age, and have realized that I cannot be trusted to make decisions about how many kids we will have during the first year because I would probably say that I want 10 kids. No worries, I realize this is crazy, and when they turn about 1, I come to my senses. I wonder why? Maybe this train wreck (who we love to pieces) has something to do with it.
Yep, footsie jammies, rain boots, and her "leprechaun" (aka leopard print) glasses are common summer attire for our little lady. Never mind the 90 degree weather... Train wreck. And we love her!
Proof that it's a good thing that we didn't end up naming him Luke, which was our front runner for most of the pregnancy. He would have most definitely been dubbed "Puke", as the kid has some amazing skills in the projectile spit-up department.

Sweetest baby boy in the whole world!

"Um, Mom I'm naked! No pictures please!"

Love this boy's sweet smile!
The ever evolving sleep habits of Hallie Campbell. And yes, that is a perfectly good bed that she is laying next to.
Daddy and Ezra catching some snuggles while they watch something that obviously is very manly.
Get used to it Ez. As far as Hallie's concerned your whole purpose is being her entertainment.
Tired girl.

Chubbing up everyday. Soon his cheeks may rival Hallie's as a baby.
Hallie requested we take a picture of her with Ezra. There are no words for the result...

The three people I love most in the whole world.
Are you tired after all of those pictures, because Ezra is. So now we're going to go to bed. Don't worry we'll update the blog in another 2 months.
See ya then!

Spring time fun!

Spring this year was a little bit of a blur. We did manage to have a lot of fun mixed in with all of the diapers, feedings, and sleepless nights that come with a new baby. Hallie enjoyed the Easter egg hunt that our ward held, and her skill have greatly improved from last year. She ran from egg to egg, opening them to be sure that she liked the candy inside before she committed to keeping them. Jellybeans and Starbursts were keepers, while M&M's were tossed aside as quickly as possible.

Still getting used to this two kid thing. I left the day with about 20 pictures of Hallie, and none of Ezra, so I made them sit for a picture together as proof that Ezra is loved, and was a part of the Easter festivities.

Dying eggs with friends. Hallie asked to color eggs every day for about 3 weeks after this. I think she had fun. We're trying to figure out how you explain holidays and traditions to a 2 year old with no concept of time. Easter was at least a big enough distraction, and finally got her focus off of Christmas, and "where'd the Christmas lights go?"
Ezra, hanging out with Dad.

Hallie and Dad soaking up the beautiful weather, flying the princess kite.
The Easter Bunny brought Hallie a trike. It was a HUGE hit, and her new favorite past time is riding her bike.
More proof that Ezra is really cute, and also loved.

Hallie, all tuckered out after a weekend of fun!
And, the stupid squirrel that was so fat it broke Hallie's bird feeder that she built at the Home Depot workshop.
That about sums it up. We were lucky to have beautiful weather this Spring, which helped a lot with the whole "adjusting" stage you go through when a new baby joins the family.

New Born Pictures

Our friend Kim Wilcox, took these beautiful pictures of Ezra when he was 6 days old. She did an amazing job, and I am so grateful to have these to look back on, as he grows!

Man that kid is CUTE! Thanks Kim, we love them!!!

It's about time...

Ezra Damon Campbell

Well, it's about time. Ezra will be 2 months tomorrow, and once again I can't believe how fast the time goes when you have a baby. I would love to figure out how to freeze time, and get in a few extra snuggles with this sweet boy, but at the same time I am grateful that I will someday get a full nights sleep again. Busy, about sums it up. Life with two kids is sooo busy, but we are loving it, and love this little guy soo much.
Hallie has really done great with her new brother. There were a few rough patches in the first couple weeks, but she never directed her jealousy at Ezra.  Most of her melt-downs were centered around wanting Mom, and no one else to help/change/carry her. She loves her "Ezra-Buddy", and is a great helper. She tells me every time we are getting ready to leave the house for errands or the park, "Mom, when Ezra starts crying it's time to go home." She really has been soo sweet to him, and is always eager to do what needs to be done to keep him happy. Hallie has also been playing with her baby dolls a lot more now that Ezra has arrived. One night we got out some of her newborn clothes for her to put on her doll, and she decided that she could still wear those clothes. (pictured above- Hallie at 28 months, wearing her 0-3 month clothes)
I might be a little biased, but I think this kid is so stinkin adorable.

No comment on what is happening in this picture. Let's just say, it might be a miracle if we can keep 2 children alive.
Hallie saw Ezra having a bath in the sink, and decided it looked like great fun.
Nothing better than a baby straight out of the bath!
Can you spy Ezra in this picture? Did we mention she loves her brother?

So cute, heading to church for the first time. He is already starting to outgrow these clothes, SLOW DOWN EZRA!
These two pictures are how Ezra sleeps if we don't swaddle him. His little arms in the air crack us up!

Hallie always reminds us that Ezra needs to do his tummy time. She can't wait for him to be big enough to play, and when Grant explained that tummy time helps him grow big and strong she decided it was a great idea.

The past 2 months have been great. Ezra is such a sweet and easygoing kid. We feel so lucky to have this sweet little spirit in our family!

Catching up...

Hallie participated in swim lessons at the Y this winter. She loved it, and we had so much fun watching her. Here she is with her certificate, she is the cutest little "perch" I've ever seen!

And here is a cute little video of what we see every night. Hallie went from being scared of monsters this past summer, to loving them. Each night when she puts her toothbrush away she comes back as a Hallie Monster and gets us. We love this girl!

MAN OF THE HOUSE

Liz was really ready to have this baby, and the rest of us were excited to meet the little guy.

We went into the hospital at 8:30 on March third and were so excited. Minutes before we were going to go back and have a baby someone came in and needed an emergency c-section so we were lucky and got to wait another couple of hours. In the end it was worth it.

I like to call this one half way here. I, as you might know would never look over the sheet to get this pic but one of the doctors was more than willing to take a few for us and he was able to capture this beauty. It is pretty awesome but still a little crazy if you ask me.

Here we are minutes after the big event. I really like the thermometer they taped to Liz's head. Ezra was really happy to meet his mom.

This is our first family photo. That first night Cris drove everyone down and we were able to have a few hours together and a dinner. Hallie really does love her little brother. She is such a good helper and loves to show her brother all the cool things that he will be able to do some day.

He spent the first six or seven hours of his life just like this. He was wide awake and just looked to be taking everything in.

Ever since he has been like this. Maybe he was not impressed with what he saw. Knock on wood though because he is so sweet and cute.

This is the outfit that Hallie picked for him to come home in. If you ask me she could not have made a better choice, start this guy liking football early.
Getting ready to bring him home. Liz is calming the angry mob here. No one wanted to see Ezra leave but we were ready to go home and be a family.
Just a cute shot of him enjoying the car ride home. Not pictured would be Cristy and Troy. We are soo grateful for all they have done. Troy has done a great job keeping Hallie happy and Cris has kept us all alive. Thank you so much for all your help and willingness to put your life on hold to help us with ours.
